MetroNet Looking to Offer Gigabit Services in Oswego
The company is also looking into providing service to Boulder Hill and Montgomery.

MetroNet is in negotiations with the Village of Oswego to brings it Gigabit service to residents.
According to company spokesman John Campbell, MetroNet has been working with the village and are still in active negotiations.
“Things that influence how quickly we can start construction are weather and our ability to get qualified crews in that area, depending on their workloads,” Campbell said, adding that working with local utility crews would also be a factor.

From the point when the franchise is in place, Campbell said the time frame to start construction would be within 9 to 12 months.
MetroNet hopes to get the service to residents as soon as it can.

“We’re going to be pushing construction as hard we can within the limitations,” Campbell said. “We don’t have to complete the entire Village of Oswego to start to provide services.”
MetroNet will build its fiber infrastructure and add other elements needed to provide services and then the company starts to build residential neighborhoods.
“Even before the entire footprint is complete, we’ll able to start offering services,” Campbell said.
MetroNet has been looking at Oswego since 2012 or 2013. Campbell said the company is also looking at adding services to Montgomery and Boulder Hill.
