New Kendall County Correctional Deputy Has Experience Working In Mental Health

The new deputy has a degree in psychology and experience working as a mental health professional at a health center.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has hired a new deputy to fill a vacancy in the Correctional Division. Chris Morecraft was sworn in on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, by Sheriff Dwight Baird.

Deputy Morecraft will be attending the eight-week Correctional Officer Training program at the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy which will begin on September 30th. In the meantime, he will be participating in an office acclimation phase, and upon completion, he will be paired with experienced field training officers for a rigorous 11-week field training program.

Deputy Morecraft earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eureka College and worked as a mental health professional at Ecker Behavioral Health Center as well as in technical support at Verizon Wireless before joining the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
