Oswego Releases Details For 4th Of July Celebration

Oswego is looking ahead to warmer times as it revealed plans for its Independence Day celebration and June's PrairieFest lineup.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego continues to look forward to the summer as winter continues in the Chicagoland area. The village released information this week about its Fourth of July celebration.

July 4 this year will mark the United States' 250th birthday, and Oswego plans to honor "this moment with a community-wide celebration filled with patriotism, pride and hometown spirit."

Although details have yet to be unveiled, as the "Oswego250" event is still five months away, officials said the celebration will take place from 3:30-9 p.m. at Prairie Point Park, 4120 Plainfield Road. Fireworks will begin after 9 p.m.
