Injured Oswego Teen Cited For Underage Drinking After Crash: Sheriff
The teenager's car spun out of control on the snowy road early Sunday, coming to a stop before another car slammed into it, officials said.
OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego teenager was arrested and cited for consuming alcohol while underage after an early Sunday morning crash that sent him and an Aurora woman to a hospital, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded at 4:57 a.m. to a report of a head-on crash on Route 31 near East Anchor Drive in Oswego Township. A 30-year-old woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while the 19-year-old, identified as Luke Raju, was hospitalized with serious injuries, officials said.
Investigators determined Raju was driving south on Route 31, approaching Anchor Drive, when his car slid on the wet and snowy roadway, spinning out of control before coming to rest sideways. The other driver involved was traveling north on Route 31 when she hit his stopped car, Deputy Dan Briars told Patch.
