Oswego Woman Robbed of More Than $6K Outside Home

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police are investigating the robbery of a 34-year-old woman that occurred in the 200 block of Willington Way late Friday evening.

According to police, the woman said she was walking to the door of her home when she was pushed to the side and her purse was taken.

The woman said the robbers were both men and possibly white. One was described as approximately 6’, wearing a dark hat, red mask and grey hoodie. The other man was described as being shorter, with no further description. The woman told police the men ran towards a dark colored SUV or mini-van that was parked on Mystic Court, getting away with more than $6,000 in valuables from the purse. The vehicle was last seen heading south on Southbury Boulevard. The woman was not injured during the robbery.

A Kendall County Sheriff Canine assisted in a search for the men, but was unsuccessful. Police canvassed the area last night and will be canvassing the area again today.

This is the second time this residence was targeted. An attempted robbery occurred at the same residence last November. It appears these instances are limited to this residence.
