Initial reports said the pedestrian was unresponsive after she was hit in the parking lot near Ulta on Route 34, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — A 79-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon in the Prairie Market Shopping Center parking lot in the 2500 block of Route 34, police said.

Initial reports said the pedestrian was unresponsive after a Chrysler Pacifica hit her around 2:30 p.m. near the Ulta store, but she was conscious and responsive when officers arrived, officials said in an update.

Investigators determined the woman was crossing the access road to enter the parking lot when she was struck by the minivan, which was turning left to exit the parking lot, officials said.
