Rollover Crash Near Car Wash Results In DUI Charges For Hoffman Estates Man: Oswego PD

The car hit a raised median and drove into oncoming traffic before rolling over in a field near Kendall Point Drive and Route 34.

OSWEGO, IL — The Hoffman Estates driver in a Saturday rollover crash was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol once he was released from the hospital, according to Oswego police.

Around 6:32 p.m., Gerardo Hidalgo Martinez was turning northbound out of the Delta Sonic lot onto Kendall Point Drive, near the intersection with Route 34, when he hit the raised median, crossed into southbound lanes and overturned in the field across from the car wash, police spokesperson Cathy Nevara told Patch.

Oswego first responders arrived on the scene and extricated the 33-year-old man before paramedics took him to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora. No one else was in the car with the driver.
