Shakespeare Presented in Limelight's Latest Show

Oswego's own Limelight Theatre Company will continue its Summer 2011 season with William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, which opens Wednesday.

Twelfth Night is believed to have been written in or around 1601 and is comedic work by the legendary English playwright. This comedy, according to Limelight's website, tells the story of "mad love, mistaken identity, wise fools and sword-wielding pirates!"

When the leading lady, Viola, pretends to be a man and finds her way to the service of Duke Orsino. The duke comes to find Viola, or "Cesario", as his confidant all the while Viola is falling in love with him. Many more characters are added and trouble follows. The plot of the play was foreshadowed at the end of the Academy Award-winning film, Shakespeare in Love.
