Sheriff's Office Hires New Patrol Deputy

Simon Versis will undergo a rigorous 12-week field training program after graduating from the law enforcement academy.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has hired a new Deputy Sheriff to fill a vacant position in the Patrol Division, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Simon Versis was sworn in Dec. 28 by Sheriff Dwight A. Baird. Versis began attending the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at the College of DuPage, Jan. 4. Upon successful completion of the academy, Versis will be paired with an experienced Field Training Officer and will undergo a rigorous 12-week field training program.

Versis, a Plainfield resident, has a Bachelors Degree from Governors State University in criminal justice. Deputy Versis worked as a jailer for the Naperville Police Department, and a Corrections Officer with the Illinois Department of Corrections prior to his employment with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
