Teen Loses Consciousness, Crashes Before Car Lands In Pond: Oswego PD

After he lost consciousness, the boy's car struck a pole and came to a stop half-submerged in a nearby pond, Oswego police said.

OSWEGO, IL — A teenager was hospitalized after he lost consciousness and crashed Saturday afternoon, his car ending up half-submerged in a pond in Oswego, officials said.

An 18-year-old boy from Oswego was driving west on Bluegrass Parkway, nearing the intersection with Douglas Road, when he lost consciousness, drove across an intersection and struck a pole before the car came to a stop in a nearby pond, police spokesperson Cathy Nevara told Patch.

The incident happened around 1:06 p.m. Saturday. A police blotter lists the case status as closed.

Nevara could not provide an update on the boy's injuries but said he was able to get out of the car himself. Responding Oswego Fire Protection District paramedics transported the teen to Rush Copley Medical Center.
