Venue 1012 Summer Concert Series: See The 2022 Lineup

Free family-friendly movies, affordably priced regional pop acts and Thursday Night Block Party events are coming this summer in Oswego.

OSWEGO, IL — Summer will soon be coming in hot, and that means considering outdoor events to enjoy. At the now-year-old Venue 1012, officials announced an array of events planned for the season.

The 2022 summer event series at the outdoor entertainment space, at 1012 Station Drive, contains a mixture of 17 ticketed and free shows "loaded with opportunities to sing, dance, sip, eat and unwind with family and friends of all ages in Oswego’s own backyard," village officials said Wednesday.

Food trucks will serve local fare and for those 21 and older, beer and wine will be available for purchase at some events.

"Get ready to celebrate summer with tons of entertainment options for all ages," Village President Troy Parlier said in a statement. "Not only is Venue 1012 a great place to gather with family and friends outdoors, but this year’s outstanding summer season also offers endless opportunities to make memories with live music and family fun."

The season will feature three types of events: Weekend Headliners, Thursday Night Block Party, and Movies Under the Stars. Weekend headliners will have a mix of free and affordably priced feature regional acts and Springbrook's Oswego Pops Orchestra concerts. Thursday Night Block Party events will be free, while Movies Under the Stars will showcase free family-friendly movies and lawn games.

Here is a look at this summer's schedule of events, broken down by category. For ticketed events, admission can be purchased through Venue 1012's website.

Weekend Headliners

Free holiday concerts and ticketed shows from top regional acts on Saturdays. The venue will open at 5 p.m., openers will perform from 6-7 p.m., and the featured band will go on from 7:30-9:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

Admission costs $15 for ages 13 and up; $10 for veterans, active military and immediate family members; and free for 12 and under.

  • May 28: Oswego Honors Veterans. Ticketed concert is Country Bash featured Tim Gleason Band, Wild Daisy and headliner Whiskeyfist.
  • May 29: Oswego Honors Veterans. Free concert is "Tribute to Veterans: Celebration Brass and Springbrook’s Oswego Pops Orchestra."
  • June 11: Ticketed concert is Hi Infidelity, an '80s rock band performing songs by Journey, REO, Bon Jovi and Boston.
  • July 2: Free concert is United States Air Force Band of Mid-America: Starlifter Genre, playing genres including rock, pop, jazz and contemporary as well as traditional patriotic songs.
  • July 23: Ticketed concert is headliner Bad Medicine, featuring Bon Jovi covers and opener Coverlicious. Genres are classic rock, pop, country and funk.
  • Sept. 3: Ticketed concert is headliner AZ/DZ and opener The Pyromaniacs.

Thursday Night Block Party

Free Thursday concerts featuring music from the '60s, '70s and '80s as well as Motown and pop. The venue will open at 5 p.m., openers will perform from 6-7 p.m., and the featured band will go on from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

    • Genre: Beach and island themes
  • June 30: R-Gang
    • Genre: Motown and R&B
  • July 14: Sealed with a Kiss
    • Genre: Pop rock
  • July 28: Hillbilly Rockstarz
    • Genre: Country
  • Aug. 4: Back to School Bash with DJ John Werle from 2-5 p.m. following by Springbrook’s Oswego Pops Orchestra (featuring Disney music) from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
  • Aug. 11: 1976
    • Genre: '70s hits
  • Sept. 1: Dancing Queen
    • Genre: ABBA tribute band

Movies Under the Stars

Free movies on select Thursdays, plus family activities and giveaways. The venue will open at 6:30 p.m., and movies will start at dusk.

  • June 9: "Encanto"
  • June 23: "The Game Plan"
  • July 21: "Spider-Man: No Way Home"
  • Aug. 18: "Luca"
