UPDATE: 10 Cases of Measles Now Confirmed in Cook County

Nine of the cases are linked to a Palatine daycare while the final case, an adult from Palatine, is linked to a grocery store.

The number of measles cases in Cook County continues to grow.

Health officials on Tuesday confirmed that two more infants have contracted the highly contagious disease from a Palatine KinderCare Learning Center, bringing the total number of cases in Illinois to 10, accoridng to the Daily Herald.

Nine of those cases are linked to the Palatine daycare while health officials said the final case, an adult from Palatine, is linked to a grocery store, according to media reports.

Health officials on Tuesday also said an Elgin Community College student was among those diagnosed with the measles, according to the Daily Herald.

Updated on Feb. 10: There are now eight confirmed cases of the measles in suburban Cook County.

Seven of those cases, six infants and one adult, are linked to a Palatine KinderCare Learning Center while health officials said the final case, an adult from Palatine, is linked to a grocery store, according to ABC 7 News.

In total, 15 infants attending the KinderCare Learning Center, 929 E. Palatine Road, were exposed to the highly-contagious virus and all were too young to be vaccinated, the Daily Herald reports.
