Biker Seriously Hurt in Crash That Shut Down Rt. 12 Near Palatine

A Grayslake man suffered life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle accident Thursday in Lake County. Route 12 has been reopened.

A motorcycle crash Thursday morning seriously hurt a Grayslake man and shut down southbound Route 12 at Plum Grove Road near Palatine for a time, the Daily Herald reports

The accident happened at about 5:45 a.m. on Rt. 12 in unincorporated Lake County, and the biker—a 49-year-old Grayslake man— suffered life-threatening injuries, the report stated. The man was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.  

Lake County Sheriff's investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the crash, which also reduced northbound Rt. 12 to a single lane of traffic for a time, the Herald reports.

All lanes of traffic along Rt. 12 are now reopened, the report added.
