Dr. Frederick Lowe leads the Palatine Concert Band in a program of “American Originals” on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, 150 E. Wood St., Palatine.
The concert brings together stirring patriotic works, cinematic favorites, jazz-inspired classics, and great American concert music in an homage to American musical creativity and innovation.
The program includes:
- American Salute — Morton Gould
- English Folk Song Suite – Ralph Vaughn Williams
- Lincoln Portrait — Aaron Copland
- Variations on “America” — Charles Ives
- The March from 1941 — John Williams
- The Symphonic Gershwin — George Gershwin
- Top Gun — Harold Faltermeyer, Kenny Loggins
Experience the powerful words of Lincoln brought to life through Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, the dazzling rhythms and melodies of Gershwin, the adrenaline and swagger of Top Gun, and the unmistakable sound of John Williams.
