ComEd Works to Restore Power Throughout Suburbs

Thousands of people are without power after a strong storm swept through the suburbs early Monday morning.

The Barrington area was hit hard by power outages with nearly 1,000 customers without electricity, according to the ComEd website. Damaged power lines and downed trees caused the outages in neighborhoods immediately east of Hough Street and south of East Main Street.

In Wheeling, over 400 were without power in an area west of North Milwaukee Avenue and South of East Lake Cook Road. Power was expected to be restored by 9:30 a.m.

Damaged power lines lead to power outages in a neighborhood south of Lake Avenue and west of Huntley Road in Lakewood. Nearby, Crystal Lake, Cary and Lake in the Hills also experienced power outages Monday morning.
