Community invited to enter in St. Pat’s Scavenger Hunt

The 10th Annual 'Paint the Town Green' St. Patrick's Day organizers have added a scavenger hunt to the festivities and are seeking entrants.

The 10th Annual ‘Paint the Town Green’ St. Patrick’s Day organizers have added for the third year a scavenger hunt to the festivities and are seeking entrants for the Saturday, March 14th through March 17th competition which will be held throughout the Palatine area.

Teams will take pictures and answers questions from provided clues at locations throughout the Palatine area. “The scavenger hunt has added an exciting new element to the festivities,” said event coordinator, Liz Noe of ElizEvents. “Teams will have four days to take pictures and answer trivia from clues that will take them around the Palatine area. Different amounts of points will be given on each question based on the difficulty of the clue.”

The scavenger hunt will begin Saturday, March 14, and continue through Tuesday, March 17th. The winning team will receive a package filled with merchant goodies and a $200 cash prize. Teams of two to six people can sign up for the scavenger hunt online at stpatspalatine.com/scavenger-hunt until March 12th. Cost is $20 per team. The number of teams will be limited and if any slots remain, teams can sign up on Saturday, March 14, during the Paint the Town Green festivities at the Irish Market.

On March 14th, late registration, the clues and a downloadable app will only be available at the Irish Market in the tent outside Durty Nellies in Palatine from 10 AM until 2 PM. Teams then can immediately begin the hunt. Teams will have until midnight on Tuesday, March 17th to submit their answers for judging. A wide variety of businesses are participating in the scavenger hunt.

The ‘Paint the Town Green’ event continues to enhance Palatine’s position as a destination town for public festivals. The premier sponsor and presenter of the festival is Durty Nellie’s.
