Community invited to make blankets at Faith & Blue event
Harper College Police, Harper's Campus Crusade for Christ club and St. John United Church of Christ in Palatine to co-host Oct. 11 event
The community is invited to join the Harper College Police Department, Harper’s Campus Crusade for Christ student club and St. John United Church of Christ in Palatine for a National Faith & Blue Weekend event.
Participants will make no-sew fleece blankets for individuals with cancer. The event will take place 3:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, October 11, at Palatine Park District’s Plum Grove Reservoir at Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine.
The Faith & Blue initiative was established to facilitate safer, stronger, more just and unified communities through partnerships and activities among law enforcement professionals, the community and faith-based organizations.

“The Faith & Blue movement, which is supported by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, is a wonderful opportunity in facilitating a productive engagement with law enforcement and faith organizations,” Harper Chief of Police John R. Lawson said. “Working together on this community involvement project will benefit Harper College students, staff, faculty and the community.”
