DCFS Hired Ex-Little City Worker Charged In Beating Of Boy At Special Needs Facility: Report

The Dept. of Children and Family Services put the woman on adminstrative leave Friday after charges were filed in last year's case.

PALATINE, IL — One of the three ex-Little City employees accused of abusing an 11-year-old boy at the facility last year has been put on adminstrative leave from her job at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, the Daily Herald reports.

Lisa Archer, 39, of Palatine, was charged Feb. 12 with aggravated battery after she and another employee who also was charged allegedly attacked the special needs boy, a resident at the nonprofit Palatine facility that helps individuals with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. In the Dec. 1 incident, prosecutors claim one of the women allegedly held the child down while the other punched and beat him with a bucket.

Both women were placed immediately on administrative leave after the alleged attack, and Little City fired them five days later. According to a Little City spokesman, the women worked as direct support professionals, roles that worked directly with facility residents to support them and help integrate them into the community, the Herald reports.
