Dog Rescued From 2nd-Floor Apartment Fire In Palatine
Damage from the blaze displaced 3 people from their apartment Thursday.

PALATINE, IL — A dog was rescued and three people were displaced from a two-story apartment building fire Thursday that took 30 firefighters to extinguish, according to the Palatine Fire Department. No one was hurt in the blaze, the department said.
Firefighters responded at around noon Thursday, June 21, to a call concerning smoke coming from a second-floor apartment in an eight-unit building in the 300 block at North Carter Street, the fire department said. A fire was discovered in a second-floor unit's kitchen that extended to the attic.
Emergency crews from the Palatine Rural, Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows fire departments assisted with the fire. It took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, the department said.

The fire left an apartment uninhabitable, according to the fire department. Damage estimates were not immediately available, and the fire is under investigation.
