Driver Arrested for DUI After Falling Asleep in McDonald's Drive Thru: Palatine Blotter

Residential Burglary
Police received a report of an unknown subject or subjects entering a home in the 1200 block of North Forest View Circle between 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 and 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 21. The suspect(s) appeared to have entered through a first floor window in the rear of the home after breaking the lock on the window. An unknown amount of jewelry was taken from the master bedroom. The burglary remains under investigation.
Burglary to Motor Vehicle
An unknown offender or offenders entered a 2007 Ford SUV in the 100 block of North Benton Street between 11 p.m. on Feb. 19 and 6 a.m. on Feb. 20. The suspect(s) stole an iPhone 5 and a spare charger. No forced entry was observed.
DUI
Police responded to McDonald’s, 1576 N. Rand Road, at 1:50 a.m. on Feb. 20 after receiving a report of a man asleep at the wheel in the drive thru. Police arrested Jose R. Nevarez, 26, of the 1300 block of Turtle Creek Drive, and charged him with DUI and DUI with BAC over .08.
DUI
Police arrested Matthew Kaminski, 24, of the 700 block of East Baldwin Road, in the 100 block of north Smith Street at 4:14 a.m. on Feb. 20. He was charged with DUI and improper lane usage.
DUI
Police arrested Tyler T. Weigand, 22, in the 1700 block of north Rand Road at 1:44 a.m. on Feb. 21. Weigand, of the 200 block of East Big Horn Drive in Hainesville, was charged with improper lane usage, DUI and no insurance.
