Charity Events, Civil War Reenactment Held in Palatine This Weekend
As summer comes to a close, enjoy a wide variety of events and activities for the whole family in Palatine and the surrounding areas.
Saturday, August 15:
- Charity Dog Wash at A Closer Bond-11a.m. - 2p.m. Benefitting PAWS Chicago, join A Closer Bond and get your dog all scrubbed up for a great cause!
- Fundraiser for Palatine native, ‘Rosie the Rock Star’ at Hot Dog Richie’s-10:30a.m.-10p.m. Stop by and 15% of all proceeds are donated to increase awareness for all childhood cancers.
Sunday, August 16:
- GAR Dedication Ceremony at Hillside Cemetery- 11a.m. The Grand Army of the Republic served veterans of the Civil War. Local dignitaries will make short speeches, a Civil War Re-enactment, historic canon firing and 21 gun salute will be part of this ceremony. One lucky attendee will win an American flag that was flown over the state capitol.
- Community Movie Night in Downtown Palatine- at Dusk. The 5th annual Community Movie night will be held on Station Street in downtown Palatine. Watch ‘Remember the Titans.’
