Got Grilling Skills? Palatine Charity Wants You to Join the Cook-Off!

C.A.T.I.F. [Celebrating All That Is Feminine] hosts a fundraiser in September to benefit Palatine Opportunity Center in downtown Palatine.

Palatine-based charity, C.A.T.I.F. [Celebrating All That Is Feminine] will be hosting their annual Block Party-Family Picnic Rib & Chicken Cook-Off on Sunday, September 14 on Station Street in downtown Palatine.

The event, now in its 4th year, includes a cook-off and applications for competitors are currently being accepted. For more information, visit the C.A.T.I.F. website and register here. The cook behind the dish voted best by judges will receive a $250 cash prize.

Family-friendly attractions will include a dunk-tank, bouncy house, kid games and entertainment and live performances from the band ‘Unconstitutional’ with an appearance by ‘Bag O Jammers’.

This event will be held on Sunday, September 14 from noon until 5 p.m. on Station Street in front of Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grille. It is free and open to the public, food and game tickets can be purchased for $1 each or 25 for $20.

The charity beneficiary of this event will be the Palatine Opportunity Center (POC), a non-profit that assists in-need Palatine residents by connecting them with resources to create a pathway for integration and success. For more information, visit their website.
