Hunger Relief Organization Feed My Starving Children Offers Special Packing Sessions for Easter

Volunteer at special Easter packing sessions in Aurora, Libertyville and Schaumburg.

Chicago, Mar. 17, 2015 – Families and church groups are invited to join together to celebrate Easter by packing meals with Feed My Starving Children and covering the costs with a gift of $50 per volunteer or $150 per household.

At these Easter sessions, volunteers are asked to invest time and make a donation to feed the world’s hungry. Normally, FMSC does not require a donation, but for these sessions each volunteer commits to funding a box of 216 MannaPack™ meals at $50. One box feeds a child for seven months.

The following sessions are offered for the Easter season at Feed My Starving Children sites in Aurora, Libertyville and Schaumburg:

Holy Saturday, April 4, 9-11 am and 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

Reserve spots at fmsc.org/fullyinvested. There is room for 140 volunteers at the Aurora and Libertyville sites, and 90 in Schaumburg.

At FMSC meal-packing, adults and children age five and older hand-assemble MannaPack™ meals consisting of rice, soy nuggets, dehydrated vegetables and flavoring with 20 vitamins and minerals. The fun activity draws families and groups together, while feeding the hungry.

A Christian non-profit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to more than 50 countries, where they’re used to operate orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. Last year, FMSC welcomed nearly 900,000 volunteers to pack more than 225 million meals. The Minnesota-based charity spends more than 90% of total donations directly on feeding the hungry and has earned the highest four-star rating from Charity Navigator for 10 consecutive years.
