Illinois Congressional Shooter Had 200 Rounds Of Ammo, List Of 6 Names: FBI

The FBI says the Virginia Congressional shooter had 200 rounds of ammunition in a Virginia storage facility.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A 66-year-old from Illinois had 200 rounds of ammunition in a storage facility when he opened fire on a GOP Congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, on June 14, the FBI said Wednesday. James T. Hodgkinson, 66, was killed after shooting four people, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, a Louisiana Republican who was critically injured. Hodgkinson, a home inspector from Belleville, Illinois, outside St. Louis, had rented an Alexandria storage facility since April 16, where he stored the ammunition, the FBI said.

The FBI confirmed Hodgkinson was carrying a list of six members of Congress, and he had searched two of them online in recent months. Hodgkinson's now-deleted Facebook page displayed anti-Republican views, but he did not post any threats or references to members of Congress or the Congressional baseball game.

The FBI on Wednesday said Hodgkinson had a grudge against Republicans and acted alone, according to NBC News. Read more via Old Town Alexandria Patch.

On his Facebook page, which has been pulled down, Hodgkinson listed himself as the former owner of JTH Inspections and JTH Construction. Illinois state records show, however, that his home inspection license expired in November of 2016 and was not renewed, according to the Post. In April 2006, Hodgkinson was charged with battery and aiding damage to a motor vehicle in St. Clair County, but those charges were dismissed.
