Rotary Club of Palatine Installs Officers and Board of Directors
The Rotary Club of Palatine installed their 2015-2016 officers and board of directors on Friday, June 19th at The American Legion Post 690.

The Rotary Club of Palatine installed their 2015-2016 officers and board of directors who will serve a one-year term from July 2015 through June 2016 on Friday, June 19th at The American Legion Post 690 in Palatine.
Incoming officers include President Oliver Girke, President-Elect Hank Sobotka, Vice President Jeff Johnson, Secretary Eric Campbell, Treasurer Chuck Young and Sergeant-At-Arms Ken Spengler. In addition, Matt Bickel, Ken Chalmers, Jim McLin, Jaime Suszek, Bill Buchta, Scott Thompson, Al Stoeckel, Jacqueline Knight, Kathy Millin, Paul McKown, Robert Steinberg, Jo Ann Pallay, Dan Cates, and Dave Reiser join the board as directors and liaisons to various club service projects.
“The Rotary Club of Palatine has served the Village of Palatine for 51 years,” said President Oliver Girke. “I am delighted that our club officers and committee chairs, volunteer to serve in this dynamic global service organization. We’ve accomplished so many things as a club over the past half century and look to continue to shape ourselves, and future members, for continued excellence and service within our community and beyond.”
Club membership chairs, Matt Bickel and Ken Chalmers invite men and women of the Palatine community to learn more about Rotary. According to Matt Bickel, “those interested in learning more about our Rotary Club are welcome to join us on Tuesday mornings for breakfast. We are always seeking individuals to build goodwill in our local community as well as around the globe.”
The Rotary Club of Palatine will be holding their largest fundraiser the 8th Annual Oktoberfest in downtown Palatine on Friday, September 18th through Sunday, September 20th. The event is free, open to the public and includes authentic German food, beverages and entertainment along with Family Day Activities on Saturday. Monies raised will support local community projects and charities.
Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.
