Little Free Library Now Open In Palatine
Thanks to the efforts of Maria Schlup, Reading Specialist at Lincoln School, a new Little Free Library has been established at Falcon Park.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Little Free Library at Falcon Park in Palatine was held on September 8. The community was well represented with Executive Director Mike Clark of Palatine Park District, Director Anthony Auston from the Palatine Public Library, Superintendent Scott Thompson from CCSD15, Principal Mary Beth Knoeppel of Lincoln School, and Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz. Also in attendance were many friends, family and coworkers of Maria Schlup, the project’s driving force, including Bill and Kathy Hatzold, the builders of the Little Free Library itself. The premise of the Little Free Library is simple - take a book, leave a book. And the library is open to all.
