Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting 97-Year-Old Woman
The alleged sexual assault occurred at an Arlington Heights retirement facility, police said.

A 51-year-old Mount Prospect man is expected in bond court today after police said he sexually assaulted a 97-year-old woman at Church Creek Senior Living in Arlington Heights last month, the Daily Herald reports.
Frank Mendez is charged with home invasion, aggravated sexual assault and aggravated battery in connection with the Aug. 20 attack in which he is accused of entering the woman’s home through an unlocked window at about 10:40 p.m., according to the article.

Police began to look at Mendez as a suspect in the sexual assault while investigating a separate trespassing complaint, the newspaper reports.
Mendez is accused of entering a separate home on Aug. 20 but he said he left after he was confronted by the homeowner, according to a Arlington Heights police. He was arrested on Thursday after police spotted him biking in the area of Golf Road and Algonquin Road. Police said he matched the description of the suspect.

He is charged with criminal trespassing to a residence in that case.
