Investigation Continues Into Arlington Heights House Fire
The fire broke just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

A 68-year-old man has died after he became trapped inside his home during a house fire in Arlington Heights early Tuesday, police said.

The man’s 30-year-old daughter and 68-year-old wife were able to get out of the house in the 1618 West Waverly Court, according to ABC 7 and police reports. The daughter was taken to Loyola University Medical Center for treatment and her mom was transported to Northwest Community Hospital where she was treated and has since been released.
Fire officials were called to the blaze at about 2 a.m. Tuesday. They found one of the home’s residents in the front yard and another in the back yard and learned the man was still trapped inside, according to an Arlington Heights Police Department press release.

Firefighters entered the home and found the man dead inside. The fire was contained to a hallway in the home and was brought under control within 10 minutes, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the blaze along with the Arlington Heights Fire and Police departments.
The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
