Metra Trains Running Behind Schedule Following Lumber Yard Fire
Some trains on the Union Pacific Northwest line are delayed this morning.

Riders on Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest line should expect some delays this morning following a fire in a Chicago lumber yard that halted trains.
A fire broke out around 4 a.m. at at Harry’s Lumber Company, which is located in the Norwood Park neighborhood at 6220 N. Northwest Highway, according to CBS Chicago. Due to the close proximity to the Metra tracks, trains were halted and service did not resume until 5:45 a.m.

Trains continue to run behind schedule due to the earlier delays. Train 634, which is scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 8:55 a.m., is delayed by 18 to 23 minutes, and inbound train 328, which is scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 9:08 a.m., is operating on an 11-minute delay.
