Motorola Solutions, Schaumburg to Discuss Splitting Land Into Parcels

The company is planning to move its global headquarters and 800 of its employees to Chicago by this summer.

Motorola Solutions in Schaumburg is expected to move its global headquarters, and 800 employees, to Chicago by this summer and is beginning the process of of selling its land with plans to divide it into five parcels this month, according to the Daily Herald. The village’s zoning board of appeals will hold a public hearing on Jan. 13 and is expected to make a recommendation on the proposal.

Meanwhile, the village’s plan commission is also expected to hold a public hearing on the village consultant’s plan to divide the campus into 20 parcels that would be connected by a curved road that would run from the west side of Meecham Road to the south side of Algonquin Road, the newspaper reports. The plan calls for an area where people could live, work in offices, stay at hotels and eat at restaurants without having to move their cars during the work day, according to the article.
