October 9 Textile Reuse and Recycle Event at Palatine Township
Textile Reuse and Recycle Event hosted by Palatine Township and Palatine Lions Club on October 9, 2021 9 am - 12 pm

Palatine Township and co-sponsors, Palatine Lions Club, host this free event for residents on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 9 am – 12 pm. Your donations will be responsibly reused, recycled and kept out of landfills. Only items in extremely poor condition will be recycled.
Drive through and drop off your donation in the Palatine Township Parking Lot at 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. Residents should enter the lot off westbound Illinois Avenue and follow the guiding signs in the parking lot. Residents should NOT leave their cars, as volunteers will take the clothing/textile items out of their vehicles.
Your donated items will be sorted for reuse and recycling. Acceptable item include:

· All sizes of men’s, women and children’s clothing including coats and jackets
· Shoes, sandals and slippers (in pairs only)

· Bedding and linens including sheets, comforters, pillowcases, blankets and pillows
· Towels, wash cloths and tub mats
· Pet beds and sleeping bags
· Table linens and cloth napkins
· Socks (in pairs ONLY), hats, gloves, undergarments and bras
· Accessories including handbags, purses, belts and ties
Items that will NOT be accepted for textile recycling:
· Appliances, furniture, tires, paint, carpeting, and mattresses
· Traditional recyclables (metal, glass, paper) and hazardous waste
Wet or badly soiled items will not be accepted. We reserve the right to refuse any items presented for donation.
“This is a great opportunity for residents to keep reusable clothing, bedding and similar items out of landfills” said Andy-John G. Kalkounos, Supervisor of Palatine Township.
