Palatine Fitness Expert Honored
Robert "Bob" Gajda of Palatine's Gajda Health Plus Network will be inducted Oct. 17 into The Association of Oldetime Barbell & Strongmen Hall of Fame.
Robert “Bob” Gajda of Palatine’s Gajda Health Plus Network will be inducted on Oct. 17 into The Association of Oldetime Barbell & Strongmen (AOBS) Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Newark, New Jersey.
Gajda is being recognized for his achievements in bodybuilding, a press release states. In 1966 Gajda was named Mr. USA, Mr. America and Mr. Universe in the same year. This is Gajda’s third induction into a Hall of Fame. He was first inducted into The World Body Building Guild International Hall of Fame on August 25, 2007. He was then honored by The International Fitness Hall of Fame on March 16 2008, the press release states.
For 25 years, The Association of Oldetime Barbell & Strongmen has honored those who have earned distinction in the “Iron Game.” From its outset, one of the missions of the AOBS has been to recognize and remember the greats of iron game history.

“I am proud to be recognized as one of the greats in the iron game,” Gajda stated. “I have always had a passion for fitness both personally and in bringing the benefits of fitness to others.”
Gajda is the Executive Director of Gajda Health Plus Network located at 552 East Northwest Highway in Palatine and a leader in the corrective therapeutic movement, the press release states.

He also is a noted author and holds a number of patents on fitness, exercise and rehabilitation products. In the community, he has served as a Director of the American Cancer Society and Assistant Director of the Robert Crown Center for Health and Education.
“At Gajda Health Plus Network, our primary mission is to transform weakness to wellness, and potential to performance,” Gajda stated. “This is accomplished by incorporating advances in science, medicine, rehabilitation and training to overall health. Our services have appeal to both team and individual sport participants as they focus on injury prevention, conditioning and core strength.”
Gajda Health Plus Network offers a variety of services including natural and traditional medicine, physical therapy, total body training, personal training, chiropractic care, pain management, podiatry and sports medicine.
Non-traditional approaches to wellness include massage therapy, acupuncture, deep tissue hot stone therapy, herbal healing and nutritional counseling. Over the years, Gajda has worked with professional body builder Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chicago Bears greats Jim McMahon and Gary Fencik, tennis legends John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors, and New York Yankee Eric Soderholm.
Gajda has Ph. D. training in Biomechanics from the University of Illinois and is a certified Corrective Kinesiotherapist. Professional affiliations include American College of Sports Medicine, American School Health Association, American Corrective Therapy Association, Institute of General Semantics and the American Kinesiotherapy Association. He was named Kinesiotherapist of the Year in 1987 by the American Kinesiotherapy Association.
