Palatine Jaycees hold Art Fair in Towne Square
The Palatine Jaycees will present their 11th annual juried art fair, "An Art Affair Around the Square," on September 12th and 13th.

The Palatine Jaycees will present their 11th annual juried art fair, “An Art Affair Around the Square,” on September 12th and 13th from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM in Towne Square in Downtown Palatine at the corners of Smith Street and Palatine Road.
Artists from all specialties, including water color, acrylic, oil, pottery, fine jewelry, photography and ceramics will be represented. “We are excited by the diversity of artists that have returned to the show this year and are impressed with the new talent participating,” said Audrey Doty, Show Chair. “This is a quality, juried art show presented as a celebration of all forms of art, from the traditional to the contemporary.”
Besides a wide range of art forms, the weekend show will also feature a wine tasting and kettle corn. On Sunday afternoon, the Toasty Cheese food truck will be stopping by to offer gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.
The show also includes live entertainment by local musicians. On Saturday, September 12th from Noon until 1:00 PM Cath Kasmer will perform, then from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM Courtney Amanda will take the stage. From 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Guyz with Bad Eyez, featuring Don Humberston and Merv Collins, will entertain attendees followed at 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM by Larry Lebbing.
The entertainment continues on Sunday, September 13th from Noon until 12:45 PM with Suzi Schwartz followed from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM by Tim Merkel. From 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM Pam Kay will perform. The Thompson Duo will play from 3:00 PM until 3:45 PM, then Cheryl Neimo and Pete Jonnson will wrap up the weekend entertainment from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
Every year, the Palatine Jaycees conduct numerous programs to serve the community and accumulate funds for operation of the Chapter and community donations. Included in these projects are the Fourth of July Festival, Christmas tree sales, Easter egg hunt and others, which benefit the community directly and help raise money.
The Palatine Chapter of the Jaycees, one of 60 local chapters throughout Illinois, has close to 100 members and is one of the largest chapters in Illinois. The Jaycees provide individuals between the age of 21 and 40 the opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills while serving their community.
The Palatine Chapter holds their monthly general meeting on the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM at the American Legion Hall on Palatine Road in Palatine.
