Palatine Pizza Showdown Winners Announced

A pizza showdown in Palatine has determined who makes the best pie in the area.

PALATINE, IL - The Palatine Pizza Showdown at Durty Nellie's last weekend showcased five of the best pizzerias in the Palatine-area and singled out one, Papa Saverio's Pizza in Rolling Meadows, as the best overall.

Papa Saverio's, located at 2158 Plum Grove Road in Rolling Meadows, also won in the "best specialty pizza" category of the contest and was the runner-up for best "veggie pizza" and "meat pizza."

The runner-up overall was Pedro's Pizza, located at 1513 N. Rand Road in Palatine. Pedro's was first in the category of best "cheese pizza."

Artistic Cuisine, located at 16 S. Bothwell St. in Palatine, was the winner in the best meat pizza category and took home runner-up honors for best specialty pizza, crust and best cheese pizza.

Magico Pizza, located at 1726 W. Algonquin Road in Hoffman Estates, was the winner for best veggie pizza.

Toni Rome’s Pizza, at 1041a E. Palatine Road in Arlington Heights, was the winner for "best crust."

Admission proceeds from the event will help the Palatine Jaycees.
