Palatine Police Blotter: DUI, Retail Theft
A look at recent arrests and crime reports made in Palatine.
PALATINE, IL — The Palatine Police Department made the following arrests and responded to various crime reports in recent days:
- Police took into custody Robin D. Hunziker, 61, of the 300 block of East Dundee Road, for allegedly placing clothing in her purse while at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road, and leaving the store without paying for the items on Sept. 2. The clothing was valued at $18.79. Hunziker is charged with retail theft.
- Authorities pulled over Omar Gutierrez-Medniola, 33, of the 1800 block of North Green Lane, at 12:50 a.m. on Aug. 29 on eastbound Dundee Road at Baldwin Road. He is charged with DUI and improper lane usage.
- Police received a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle, which occurred between 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 and 5:05 a.m. on Aug. 22 in the 800 block of South Plum Grove Road. An unknown person entered the victim's unlocked 2016 Toyota sedan and removed an identification card.
- Two women are accused of trying to steal over $100 worth of cosmetics from Walmart on Aug. 25. Police said a loss prevention employee at the Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road, witnessed the woman conceal the make-up in their purses and leave the store. Teresa L. Wright, 49, of the 1800 block of West Adams Street in Chicago, is accused of stealing $77.06 worth of cosmetics while and Jennifer L. Walsh, 36, of Whiting, Indiana, allegedly took $66.78 in cosmetics. Both are charged with retail theft.
- Christopher L. Myers, 31, of the 1500 block of North Silver Lane, is accused of concealing several items, valued at $65.95, and leaving a Jewel-Osco store, 423 E. Dundee Road. Myers is charged with retail theft.
