Palatine Police Blotter: Thefts, Vandalism and More

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

July 6

An American flag and flag pole were stolen in the 500 block of Echo Lane sometime between 7 a.m. July 6 and 1:50 p.m. July 16.

Sakura Koga, 29, of Palatine, was charged with local ordinance retail theft. The incident occurred between 3 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. Police said Koga took women's sleep wear valued at $12.99, shoes valued at $49.99, a comb valued at $4.99 and beauty products valued at $6.99 from T.J. Maxx, 1311 N. Rand Rd.

A home in the 1700 block of Ethans Glen Drive had its front door screen and the screen of a front window slashed sometime between 10 p.m. July 13 and 8:30 p.m. July 15.

July 14

A burglary to motor vehicle occurred in the Dundee Quarter area. Police said a social security card was taken from an unlocked, red 1991 Buick Lesabre.

July 14

A burglary to motor vehicle occurred sometime between 10 p.m. July 14 and 6 a.m. July 15 in the 200 block of east Forest Knoll Drive. An HP laptop computer valued at $350 was taken from a silver 2007 Dodge Charger. Also taken was a 30 GB iPod valued at $200. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

July 15

Stephanie Marie Bush, 29, of Palatine was charged with no valid insurance, DUI, driving with a blood-alcohol level above .08, and speeding. Bush was pulled over in the 900 block of N. Hicks Road.

July 15

The mailboxes of two homes in the 700 block of S. Brockway Street were damaged. The first incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. July 15 and 7:43 a.m. July 16. The second incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. July 15 and 7:35 a.m. July 16. In the second incident the mailbox was broken off its base.
