A Palatine police officer sustained “visible injuries” after he was attacked by a suspect who is accused of pushing two female customers at Durty Nellies early Friday, according to a Palatine Police Department press release.
Police were called to Durty Nellies, 180 N. Smith St., at about 1:30 a.m. Friday and learned the suspect had run from the bar after pushing the women. An officer found a man matching the suspect’s description a short time later in the 100 block of West Wood Street.
The officer ordered the man, who was later identified as Stephen Arrington, to stop but he kept running. Following a foot chase, the officer cornered Arrington in a parking lot, police said. Arrington is accused of turning and “physically engaged the officer,” according to the news release.
