Palatine Preschool Teacher Wins $10K Education Award
KinderCare instructor Attiya Mirza was nominated for the honor by her colleagues.

PALATINE, IL — A Palatine preschool teacher with a reputation for connecting with students and parents was presented with a $10,000 education award last week, the Daily Herald reports.
Attiya Mirza, who has worked at Palatine's Quentin Park KinderCare for four years, received the Early Childhood Education Award on Monday. The presentation was a surprise and was given to her as she taught a class, the report stated.
Mirza was nominated for the teaching excellence award by her co-workers. Along with the money, she also earned a trip to a national early education conference, Herald reports.

"I work for the kids; I never thought about getting any awards for it," she told the Herald.
