Palatine Township Thanks Mariano's and Palatine Police Department for "Stuff the Squad" Campa
Mariano's customers purchase $5 or $10 bags of groceries to help reduce hunger throughout Palatine Township.

Palatine Township is extending deep thanks to Mariano’s of Palatine and the Palatine Police Department for teaming up to help stock the shelves of the Township Food Pantry, through the “Stuff the Squad” campaign.
The program ran from September 5 through September 19, 2015, and provided Mariano’s customers an opportunity to purchase $5 or $10 pre-stuffed bags of groceries at the check-out, which were then donated to the food pantry. Since January of 2015, the food pantry has served an average of 362 families each month.
“We are so grateful to Mariano’s and the Palatine Police for helping us continue to serve Palatine Township residents through our food pantry; many times those who utilize it are going through a rough patch, and others such as seniors and the disabled on fixed incomes continually benefit from it,” said Sharon Langlotz-Johnson, Palatine Township supervisor.

In all, Stuff the Squad raised $3,835 worth of groceries, totaling 642 bags of groceries on eight pallets that were transported to the Township. Palatine police assisted in delivering the groceries directly to the pantry.
“Hunger continues to be a constant challenge for many people in our local communities,” said Robert A. Mariano, chairman, president and CEO of Mariano’s. “We’re proud to work with several of the local food pantries that are such a valuable source of sustenance for those in the community.”
