Palatine Turns 150: Residents and Businesses are Invited to Get Involved!

The Palatine 150 Core Committee warmly invites area residents and businesses to get involved in Palatine’s Sesquicentennial Celebrations throughout 2016…

The Village of Palatine will officially turn 150 years old on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Palatine residents and area businesses are invited to get involved in activities, events and other opportunities to play a part in this milestone year in the Village’s history.

Volunteers are needed to assist at a variety of ‘Palatine 150’ events and activities, including the Founders Day kick-off event on Saturday, April 2nd, the Downtown Palatine Business Association Girls on the Town event on April 15th, the Farmers’ Market starting in May, and other partner events which can be found at http://palatine150.com/event-directory/. Those interested are invited to email info@Palatine150.com to get involved.

Submit your recipe for the Palatine’s Sesquicentennial Hometown Cookbook: Email your recipes to info@Palatine150.com. The cookbook will also feature a special section for the Village’s “littlest” aspiring chefs, so if your child is interested please help type or write the child’s recipe and make sure to include the child’s name and age. Remember, we want the ingredients and directions to be those developed from the child, no matter how old they are! Anecdotes on how your recipe may pertain to Palatine are welcome and encouraged! Deadline March 1st.

Business and other organizations are invited to become a sponsor of the Sesquicentennial Year. Benefits include 1) ad space in the Daily Herald Palatine 150 Keepsake Insert which will publish on Friday, April 1, 2) business or organization name on Village of Palatine street pole banners from April through November, 3) presence on the Palatine 150 website and other promotional marketing opportunities.
