Quest Academy Student Gives Helping Hand

Palatine, IL – September 29, 2015 – Quest Academy hosted the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin in a friendly soccer match. The idea was initiated by Quest Academy student Rohan Miglani, in an effort to collect athletic equipment for the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin as a part of a service learning project. Rohan, a current seventh grader and Joseph Hargrave reached out to the public and collected athletic gear for children to use.

Quest Academy of Palatine donated soccer uniforms to the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin. Players wore their new uniforms for the match and played a fun 60-minute game at The West Campus. Following the match, the two teams enjoyed a pizza dinner with smiles all around.

“Sports are a very important part of our lives so having a sports equipment drive and the games with an organization like the Boys and Girls Club that takes care of kids our age was an easy choice. Coach Ryder and everybody at Quest was so supportive and even donated the uniforms, I could see the joy in their eyes” said Rohan.

Service learning is an integral part of the Quest Academy curriculum and encourages students to actively reflect and seek to make a positive change in our society.
