Save the Date for Palatine Township Outreach Programs

Fall/winter programs assist hundreds of individuals and families; Adopt-A-Family, Angel Tree, Thanksgiving Baskets and the Toy Drive.

Palatine Township provides a wide range of services and programs throughout the year that assist individuals and families; this fall and winter, four major outreach programs will all kick off. Please ‘save the date’ and consider donating to the Adopt-A-Family, Angel Tree, Thanksgiving Baskets and/or annual Toy Drive outreach programs.

See below for more information about each of these programs, how to get involved, in addition to their start dates:

Adopt-A-Family Individuals, families, clubs, organizations and businesses can ‘adopt’ a family and help them experience a more joy-filled holiday season. Donors help to provide new clothing, toys and gifts to recipients for the holiday season. Online donor registration begins Friday, September 20.

Thanksgiving Baskets Donors for this program can register to bring a basket of non-perishable foods in a laundry basket, along with a $25 gift card, to be distributed to in-need Township families for the Thanksgiving holiday. Online donor registration begins Friday, October 18.

Angel Trees Christmas trees will soon be located in the Palatine Township Center foyer and decorated with handmade angel ornaments which include a ‘gift wish list’ from in-need children or senior citizens, along with their first name and age. Those interested in selecting an ornament can visit the Township starting on Friday, November 1 when the Angel Trees arrive, and sign one out at the front desk.

Toy Drive Throughout the month of December, unwrapped new toys can be dropped off at the Palatine Township Center to be included in the annual Toy Drive. Toys will be distributed to in-need Palatine Township children and young adults who are either new to the Township, or who have missed the deadlines for other holiday giving programs.

“Palatine Township assists hundreds of individuals and families each year, and we greatly appreciate the confidence and trust the community has placed in the Township to administer these programs,” said Palatine Township Supervisor Sharon Langlotz-Johnson. “Please consider joining us to help make the holiday season a little bit brighter for our neighbors experiencing financial hardships.”

Palatine Township Center is located at 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine. For more information about these giving programs, and to complete a donor registration form, visit PalatineTownship-il.gov. For questions, please call the Township at 847-358-6700.
