Schaumburg Police Ticketing Woodfield Shoppers With Expired Plate Stickers

A $50 ticket could be awaiting you if you park at Woodfield Mall and your car does not have a current annual registration sticker.

Shoppers at Woodfield Mall will want to make sure their license plates stickers are not expired before parking at the mall’s lot as Schaumburg police have upped the number of tickets its issuing to violators, the Daily Herald reports.

The Secretary of State stopped mailing notices that license plate stickers were set to expire in October. According to a Daily Herald investigation, 816 people were ticketed in Schaumburg in January for parking in a public area without a current annual registration sticker, which is a 23 percent increase compared to January 2015. The majority of tickets, police told the Daily Herald, were issued for violations at Woodfield Mall and were fined $50.
