The work is a part of the ongoing widening and reconstruction of Mannheim Road from just north of Irving Park Road (Illinois 19) to just north of Higgins Road (Illinois 72) through Chicago, Des Plaines, Rosemont and Schiller Park.

More information on that project, anticipated to be completed by the end of this year, can be found at www.idot.illinois.gov/projects/us12-and-45-at-mannheim-rd.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
