Palatine High School also earned a spot on Chicago magazine's list rating the top schools in Chicago and the suburbs.

PALATINE, IL — Two Township High School District 211 schools were named to Chicago magazine's list of the best suburban high schools in Cook County, which was released this week.
The schools that were ranked include William Fremd High School at No. 5, followed by Palatine High School at No. 16. In Cook County, Proviso Math and Science Academy in Forest Park earned the No. 1 ranking among high schools, and Northfield's Middlefork Primary School took the stop spot in among elementaries.
Teaming up with nonprofit group RTI International, Chicago magazine created the criteria for its best of lists—divided by county and school level—based on test scores, attendance, spending per student, graduation rates (for the high schools) and other data taken from the Illinois Board of Education. The publication hasn't done this type of school analysis and ranking since 2012.
