William J. Steinkopf, 73

Visitation for William J. Steinkopf, 73, of Palatine, will be held on Friday Sept. 16 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the , 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Funeral service Saturday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

 Steinkopf was a U.S. Marine and Korean War veteran. He was born on Oct. 25, 1937 in Chicago the son of the late Hans and Margaret ( Kuppig) Steinkopf and passed away Monday Sept. 12 at his home.

Prior to Bill’s retirement he had worked for many years for the Chicago Sun Times as a truck driver.

Beloved husband of  Patricia (Wegs) Steinkopf; loving father of John (Sherry), Jennie, Debbie, and Michael Steinkopf, Walter Rodgers, Sheila Quillin and Daniel Rodgers; cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Amanda, John, Walter III, Robert, William, George and Jessica;  dear great grandfather of 4; brother of Richard (Sandra) and James Steinkopf; fond uncle of 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
