Women's Club of Inverness Gets Jazzed Up!

Chair, Nina Stephenson, and her Co-Chairs Leslie Roberts and Sue Rogers, jazzed up members and guests at the December 14th General Meeting, announcing this year’s theme: The World is Our Runway. Let’s JAZZ it up! Gene Garcia and his Quartet played jazz, adding to the theme reveal, including the saxophonist who led the 2018 Fashion Show chair team parade.

Women’s Club of Inverness (WCI) is known for this annual springtime tradition…Don’t miss it! Tickets are $75 for the Thursday, April 12, 2018 event held at Stonegate Banquet & Conference Centre; doors open at 9:30 am and close at 3:00 pm. It is a day to enjoy luncheon, shopping, raffles, prizes, silent auction, and a professional fashion show produced by Fashions with Flair. The dynamic duo of Nina Stephenson and Sue Rogers have also planned WCI’s February off-site evening meeting to be held Thursday, February 8, at Wok’ N Fire in the Arboretum of South Barrington. To coincide with the fashion show jazz theme, Professor James Edstrom will entertain with the history of Chicago’s gangsters and unique characters. “Chicago has a reputation as a city constantly on the move—always plotting, planning, and scheming to find ways to make a buck, both licit and illicit.” The meeting portion is short on business, focusing more on fashion show plans and socializing. Members, significant others, and guests are invited. Arrive by 6:30 pm for a short meeting before enjoying hors d’oeuvres at 7:00 pm, and program starting at 7:30 pm; the event concludes by 9:00 pm. Last year, proceeds from the two fundraising events surpassed financial goals which enabled WCI to return to the community a 40% increase in philanthropy over the prior year.
