• Palos Heights approves bike path to Metra station (southwestregionalpublishing.com) — Getting to the Palos Heights Metra station should soon be easier, thanks to a new bike and pedestrian path extension approved by the city council. Worth will build and maintain the short connector under the tracks, linking its existing canal path to the station and giving commuters another safe, car-free route by late 2026.
   

• Palos Heights approves Lake Katherine upgrades (southwestregionalpublishing.com) — Palos Heights residents can expect upgrades at Lake Katherine Nature Center and clubhouse after the city council approved more than $50,000 in repairs and security improvements. Work includes deck repairs, new carpeting, a steel staircase, and enhanced camera and key-fob systems, all described as routine maintenance aimed at improving safety and preserving these popular community spaces.
