Aggravated Speeding

Anthony J. Swistek Jr., 22, of the 7000 block of West 88th Place, Bridgeview, was charged with aggravated speeding after police clocked him going 70 mph in a 35-mph zone at about 3:55 a.m. March 29 in the 12000 block of South Harlem Avenue, according to Palos Heights police reports.

DUI

William J. Vinci, 24, of the 23300 block of South Dutch Drive, Frankfort, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to signal after a March 29 traffic stop, according to Palos Heights police reports.

Vinci was involved in a one-car crash, hitting and driving up on center median at about 2:11 a.m. in the 12700 block of South Harlem Avenue, the report stated. While police were investigating the accident, it was discovered that Vinci had been driving under the influence, the report added.

At the police station, Vinci took a breath test, which registered a blood-alcohol level more than 0.08, the report stated.

Vinci was held on $1,000 bond, and his next court date is April 24.
