Alleged Sauced Driver, Stolen Phone: Blotter

SUNDAY, JAN. 17

DUI

Tylka Bohdan, 28, of Orland Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane use after a Jan. 17 traffic stop, according to Palos Hills police reports.

Police pulled over Bohdan at about 2 a.m. after seeing him squeal the tires of his white Hyundai while he was in a parking lot in the 10300 block of South Harlem Avenue and then began swerving as he traveled southbound along Robert Road, the report stated. During the stop, police noticed a strong odor of alcohol on Bohdan’s breath, and Bohdan failed field sobriety tests, the report added.

Bohdan’s court date is March 4.

FRIDAY, JAN. 15

Misdemeanor Theft

Timothy Sill, 24, of Chicago Ridge, was arrested and charged him with misdemeanor theft after being accused of stealing a phone while inside a residence Jan. 15, according to Palos Hills police reports.

The victim told police that he had invited a couple of acquaintances over to his apartment in the 10100 block of South 84th Terrace, the report stated. He went to the basement to get laundry, and when he returned, the acquaintances were gone and so was his Samsung phone, the report added.

Police tracked down the phone to a buyback kiosk in Chicago Ridge Mall, the report stated. It was then determined that Sill had been the one to turn the phone in, the report added.

Sill’s court date is March 4.
